Bikes and Beach

July 13, 2009 by bobcatou

Wednesday I will be riding down to Johnson City, TN for the BMW Motorcycle Owners Association International Motorcycle Rally. There, I will catch up with some friends, see some fun bikes and gadgets and do a little riding.

After the rally, I plan to ride east to Cape Hatteras, NC and camp near Buxton, NC. I’m not much for laying on the beach anymore but I do like taking a stroll during the morning sunrise on the beach.

I’m sure I will be taking some pictures as usual and I will try to post some video too. Now I have to go pack.

My friend Alex bought a new toy to work on.

June 7, 2009 by bobcatou

This weekend I helped a friend of mine in ABQ pick up a new toy. It’s a 1973 BMW R60/5 motorcycle. He’s been looking for one to work on for a while now. It’s a pretty bike. He has a lot of work ahead of him, but I am sure he can make that baby run and look pretty.

Now I saw my next bike, a BMW r1200R. Well…It’s my next motorcycle this week. Frankly, I am happy with my F650GS. It’s fine for touring and I can manage it well enough in the cities or on dirt if I want.

Colorado Rain

September 27, 2008 by bobcatou

I took off today from Moab to Colorado.

The plan was to go to Telluride then get within an hour of Canon City. The weather didn’t cooperate so I bypassed Telluride and only headed toward Canon City.

I was expecting to only hit some rain briefly in the mountain passes but the precipitation lasted much longer and because of the high altitudes, it got a little cold.

I would of taken some shots of the rain but it was too miserable to get off the bike.

I wound up stopping about 100 miles short of Canon City in the town of Gunnison. The last past between here and Canon City is suppose to take me up to about 12000 feet and I didn’t want to ride that in the rain. I figured it might make for some nice pictures the tomorrow and if I hold out, maybe the rain will pass.

I’ll try to get some shots as well as some bungee jumpers from Canon City next.
