I’ve been back from The Outer Banks of North Carolina for over a month now, but I never did post the surprisingly exciting event of the these tiny creatures.
The event took place at the Scotch Bonnet Fudge Store in Frisco, NC. There were only 4 participants in this race. Jimmy The Crab was the favorite but as you can tell from the video, Hermee nudge out the win to take the prize.

Now seeing the Ocracoke Light Station wasn’t my favorite part of this visit to the landmark, but rather it was meeting The Light Keeper itself. This individual was a young and very mellow cat that slept on the boardwalk leading to the light station. Like someone there told me, every lighthouse needs a lighthouse cat.

This is probably my favorite landmark here on the Island. It’s the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. Years back The National Parks Service had to move the lighthouse because of beach erosion. Now it sits safely back from the water. The NPS charges a $7 fee to climb to the top of the lighthouse which seemed a little steep for to me, so I passed on that pleasure.
