Nightlife On The Outer Banks

July 29, 2009 by bobcatou

Earlier this week, I took my video camera and a flash light and walked The Outer Banks at night. Here I got some great shots of sand crabs and other various things going on along the shore. After that I laid in the sand for about a hour just star gazing and soaking up the night. This was one of my best evenings here.

Leaving Frisco Someday

July 28, 2009 by bobcatou

I’ve been staying in a campsite in Frisco, NC on the Outer Banks now for about a week. This is a beautiful area. The area has built up much more here since I visited as a child but this location is much quieter and laid back then north of here in Nags Head. I rode up there for a day and turned right around. Nags Head just didn’t appeal to me because of the traffic and crowds.

While on the southern part of the island, I have been getting some work done in the local coffee shops and talking with locals and tourists. This area has such a great small town atmosphere. Several people have commented to me that they have seen my motorcycle around. I just thought that was a funny comment to make.

I have taken much video and many photographs and will sure to post them soon.

I have planned to leave several times now but continue to decide to extend my time here. I will leave one day.

Outer Banks Visit

July 22, 2009 by bobcatou

I made it out to the Outer Banks in North Carolina. I’m staying at the Frisco National Park Campground right next to the beach. The trip so has been pretty wet but the sun is out today so I plan to see some sights. Above is a quick and dirty edit on a video of the coastline near where I am camped.

Last weekend I was near Johnson City, NC at the annual International BMW Motorcycle Rally. I’m sorry to say that I was not inspired. The event wasn’t quite what I expect. The rain kept riding to a minimum and crowd was larger than I tend to like. I did meet some nice people though and reconnected with friends from my local bike club called “The Chain Gang”

After the rally, I stopped in Apex, NC and visited an old friend from my youth named Jason Emery. I got to meet his wife and kids and had quite a good time. Boys will be boys too. We played Madden Football on an Xbox 360 before the night I left. We split two games but technically, if there was a tie-breaker, I would of won because I had more total points. (jab-jab).

Anyway, I am heading up to Nags Head and Kitty Hawk for the day. I hope to get some good pictures.

Surfs up boys and girls!!!!
