This is probably my favorite landmark here on the Island. It’s the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. Years back The National Parks Service had to move the lighthouse because of beach erosion. Now it sits safely back from the water. The NPS charges a $7 fee to climb to the top of the lighthouse which seemed a little steep for to me, so I passed on that pleasure.
JAWS
As a kid, I had fished The Outer Banks on vacations. I’m not much of a fisherman anymore, but I thought it would be fun to stop by the Avon Pier. As I arrived, this man was unhooking a Spinner shark. The fish was not happy either. After the shark was posed for a few pictures, the fisherman released the fish back into the water.
Kite Surfing The Banks
While sightseeing the The Outer Banks, I came by this group of kite surfers on the Pamlico Sound side of the Island. The light for this time of day was crummy, (around 2pm) but I still wanted to get some video of their fun. Above is what I came from it.
