As a 20+ year veteran of both the technical and editorial sides of news production, (18 of which spent at CNN in Atlanta) I decided it was time to pursue other goals and interests. I sold my home to take a furlough from my career and go on an adventure through the United States to expand my horizons.
This life changing decision has taken me through 43 states and 3 Canadian provinces and has added 50,000 miles to the odometer of my BMW F650GS motorcycle. Along the way I have met fascinating people, made many friends and learned quite a bit about myself.
Trips that I would recommend would start at hiking to the top of Angels Landing in Zion National Park, seeing the sand dunes of Death Valley at sunrise or having a fresh fish dinner either on Prince Edward Island in Canada or on the Outer Banks in North Carolina.
I created my website as a learning tool and record for myself as well as a place where friends and family can keep track of me on my travels.
All good things have to come to an end, so now I would like to settle where I have enjoyed traveling most, the southwest United States. I haven’t ruled out any location. I see so many advantages to living in different parts of the country. For now, I am concentrating my efforts in and around New Mexico. I’m hoping to continue to work in TV, web production or content management but frankly I am open to many different opportunities depending on where they take me.
If you are heading to any places that I have been, feel free to drop me an email and I am more than happy to give you any advice I can offer. If you come across a job opening that might fit my skills, I wouldn’t mind hearing about that either.
I can’t express how much I have enjoyed my adventures. I continually tell people to get at least a little out of their comfort zone. For me, I blew up my comfort zone but trust me, it was well worth it.
